Adventure Engagement | From Michigan to Miami1,764 miles! That's how far these two love birds traveled to visit us from Marquette, Michigan to Miami Beach, Florida. Drew's cousin and his fiancé Emily flew down to thaw out from their wintery wonderland to catch some rays in sunny Miami. Drew and I always treasure visiting family in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and we were thrilled when J+E wanted to see us right before Thanksgiving. We also love hosting, but sometime Drew and I can get into work black holes, and J+E's timing couldn't have been more perfect to pull us out. We got to re-fall in love with our city and show them all our favorites and new spots. They got the whole tour from beach days, to Lincoln Road shopping, to Wynwood Walls, driving through Coral Gables and Coconut Grove, to eating at amazing places. Highlights include The Salty Donut, Wynwood Yard, bubble tea from Sriracha House, top 50 restaurant Yardbird, and of course Shake Shake. We've known these two as a couple for years and we jumped up and down when Jared proposed to Emily under an umbrella art installation in Michigan this summer. They're the perfect compliments and balance to each other. It's so evident how much they adore one another. I loved seeing Jared support Emily and be so caring. Emily overflows with joy and her laugh is contagious. I was even more honored when they asked me to photograph their wedding in August at Carp Rivers Gardens. I can't wait to celebrate with them and capture their big day! So of course we had to take engagement photos while they were here! We chose Matheson Hammock park because of the balance of woods and beach. The romantic Spanish moss and massive banyan trees made the perfect backdrop as we caught the last big of sunlight. One thing about living in Miami is that we're a tropical climate so storms can roll in without warning. As we made our way to the beach the clouds started to open up. But that didn't put a damper on their spirits! We had so much fun in the park beneath the palm trees and seeing the skyline from Coral Gables. I can't say enough about how wonderful they are, you'll just have to see the photos below! Thank you E+J for coming to see us and we can't wait for you to come see us again!!
