Jockeys Ridge State Park has the most gorgeous sand dunes! I was SO excited when Chelsea wanted to make the drive to this epic location in Nags Head, on the NC coast. I've been lucky enough to travel to Little Sahara Sand Dunes for an elopement and Great Sand Dunes National Park for fun with Drew on a CO road trip, so I was stoked to see what Jockey's Ridge had in store for us! 

They rented the cutest Airbnb and we first took photos with their adorable pup! Then, we made our way to the Sand Dunes! We both love the neutral look of the sand dunes and I'm obsessed with their all black annd their sunset white outfits! We had the best time playing music, running up and down the massive dunes, embracing the wind, talking about life, wedding planning, and everything in between. Truly a dream come true with these two!

Carolina Beach in North Carolina is just a few minutes drive past Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach. I was so excited when Emily + Zach wanted engagement photos doing what they love - boating and enjoying their beach and favorite island! We took pictures on their boat, I used my drone for some epic shots, and then we docked at an island and chased the sun! We ended the adventurous day with champagne and jumping off the dock! These are some of my all time favorites! Emily + Zach were so kind, generous, and fun! We played music, talked about their upcoming destination wedding, and had the best time taking photos! My favorite quote of the day was from Zach, "I love these kinds of photos, I just get to kiss my beautiful fiancé!" When you're in your natural element it's so much easier to feel like yourself which results in these beautifully effortless and candid moments! Thank you E+Z!

Sunrise engagement photos at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC is beyond magical. The grounds are empty except for a few runners, it's not too hot yet, and the sun peaks perfectly right out over the trees. I actually spent many summers growing up in DC visiting my family and as a photographer, this has been a bucket list location. So of course I was stoked when Miami couple M+C wanted to photograph in their new city! I brought the music and they brought the moves! We had Latin tunes on blast, the only way to start your morning. They picked a classic blue and red outfit to pop against the white background of the Lincoln Monumnet. We then walked around the reflecting pool and through the park! We even had one lady who walked by as M was on C's shoulders say, "I've seen countless engagement pictures here but that's a first!". Heck yes for creativity, endless joy, and all the love!!!  It was the perfect day to celebrate their love!! 

I have 2 favorite locations at the Eno River in Durham, NC! One, features gorgeous trees, big rocks, and small hike down to the iconic swinging bridge. The other, the river and trees open up and it's the perfect area to splash around! I love taking engagement pictures at the Eno River with adventurous couples and exploring the forest! Chelsea and Ryan were so much fun and we talked about how they met in college, about how Ryan and I both played lacrosse in college, and their incredible Costa Rica wedding coming up! You know when you meet and you just click? Well that's what happened when I met up with S+J for their NC Museum Of Art engagement session! We talked the entire time and had such a wonderful afternoon running around the Raleigh fields! I love engagement sessions because you get to know each other more and our couple's get used to the flow so wedding day is super easy! S+J are so effortless and clearly made my job easy because they're oh so in love. I love photographing the NC Museum of Art at sunset  and am so grateful for this pre-wedding session! Thank you both for an amazing afternoon and we can't wait for your wedding, yay!

Joyner Park is so beautiful! I loved being able to take engagement pictures at this gorgeous Wake Forest park with this beautiful family! These frontline workers are so deserving!! She's a nurse and he's a lineman. They both work crazy hours serving, healing, and giving back to the community, and I loved hearing more about their jobs. I am so grateful for their work and service. I am even more grateful that Drew and I get to be their wedding photographers!! We adventured into Wake Forest and explored Joyner Park which had perfect fields for the dogs to run around in! The sunset was gorgeous and the yellow flowers were a dream. We had so much fun talking about how they met, about their pups, and their upcoming wedding! We can't wait to celebrate with them next year! Check out the adorable dog accessories, bandanas, bow ties, and even a flower crown!

Nancy and Jeff are sooooo much fun! Typing this I want to use all caps because their energy is so contagious! They are from New York and escaped the city to the sunshine and warmth of Miami! Miami is special for them because it's actually where one of their first dates happened and where they got engaged! I loved that they wanted something more non-traditional and just wanted to have fun! That's what engagement sessions are all about! Celebrating your authentic self! So naturally, we had to start off with the best Boba Tea around at Bubba Tea. Caffeined up, we hit the streets in search of fun murals around Wynwood! The Wynwood Walls are iconic and every changing so every session here in different! We ventured to Domino Park on the water and we wanted to keep having fun even with the sun set, so we went to the highest point in Miami, a parking deck in the Design District for sunset!

This gorgeous engagement session was a dream! Of course the locations are stunning, but, these two are just so perfect! We met at Tree Tops Park and walked through the trails attempting not to sweat! I was so loving talking with them that I completely missed the Ancient Live Oaks grove and we just wandered on through the woods haha. THANKFULLY, they are so chill and so go with the flow they laughed at my extrovert-ness and we took beautiful photos surrounded by all this lush green! He is a pilot and she works in sales. They were living in different cities when they first started dating. They both said it was pretty apparent from the first few dates that they had found their person. It was truly love at first sight. Soon after, they moved to be in the same city and now they're engaged! Her red dress popped against the green of Tree Tops Park and he was a trooper wearing a jacket in this South Florida Heat. We then ventured to Dania Beach Pier for some sunset pictures! Taking pictures on the beach is my favorite thing! We frolicked through the white sands and then splashed in the waves under the Dania Beach Pier. They were laughing and soon forgot I was there and their love just radiated! Thank you both so much for letting me adventure around Fort Lauderdale with y'all! I hope you love these as much as I do! 

Drew and I had the privilege of being Nick and Zoie's wedding photographers this winter. (Relive their wedding in this blog post and relive their engagement photos in this blog post!) I'm always SO humbled whenever I get to keep taking pictures of my couples turned friends! These three are just the best! We always have the best time together, the 4 of us are totally kindred spirits. Like us, they love traveling, exploring new places, good wine, being outside, telling stories, caring for other people, fighting for justice, laughing lots, and making their friends feel loved. It took us a while to start taking pictures because were all just standing chit chatting haha, that's the best sign! Melvin, the English Bulldog, was a trooper in the Miami heat and loved playing model! They wanted, "we're happy, we're healthy, we're still so in love" pictures. Yes, please! I loved this park with the mid of palm trees, white winding paths, open fields, and the marina. Drew was there to help! He's the best and I always love having him there to support me. We of course followed pictures with drinks that the best outdoor drink spot in Coconut Grove, Glass & Vine. I can't wait to document more chapters of your beautiful lives and hopefully do some more exploring with y'all!
